*CodSpeed is the continuous performance optimization platform trusted by world-class engineering teams. We shift performance testing left to catch regressions before they ship. From open-source projects like Mozilla, Vercel, and Pydantic to enterprise teams at OpenAI, Cloudflare, and beyond. CodSpeed empowers developers to measure, track, and improve software efficiency across the stack.*
Developers already find us. Our performance reports on open-source projects like Ruff, uv, and Prisma bring in thousands of engineers, and some of them work at the largest companies in the world. What we don't have yet is someone who owns the story.
This is our first marketing hire. You own brand, messaging, and the narrative we bring to enterprises. Developer relations builds trust with the community. The GTM engineer turns usage into pipeline. You make sure everything they amplify says the same thing, and you run the marketing engine that grows awareness month over month.
What you'll do
- Own positioning and messaging. One narrative from the website to the sales deck to the first line of the docs.
- Own product marketing: launches, announcements, and case studies built with the teams already using us (Cloudflare, Vercel, Sentry, Mozilla).
- Build the enterprise narrative. You translate a deeply technical product into the buyer’s language.
- Run campaigns that grow awareness: content, socials, events amplification, paid when it makes sense.
- Build our content engine. Brief and manage external technical writers, agencies, and video editors.
How we'll measure success
- Awareness: growth in relevant website traffic, signups, and new repositories enabling CodSpeed.
- Launches and user communication: engagement with announcements and updates, and adoption of new capabilities by existing users.
- Positioning: clear, consistent messaging across the website, content, and launches, tested in customer conversations and used by the team.
Requirements
- 4+ years in B2B marketing, with time at a devtool or technical-product company.
- You've owned positioning and messaging end to end, not just executed someone else's.
- A track record of growing awareness measurably: traffic, signups, share of voice.
- You understand buyer outcomes and learn technical products fast. You don't need to be a developer.
- Hands-on. You run campaigns yourself and manage contractors, and you're happy doing both.
